Established in 1997, Sunmaju Sdn Bhd is one of Malaysia’s biggest commercial fuels resellers. It operates a fleet of 70 trucks that transports commercial diesel to a diverse clientele in construction, fishery, infrastructure, mining and other heavy industries.

THE MAIN CAUSE

Regular diesel used by the trucks was causing severe corrosion and carbon deposit build-ups around the nozzles and putting great stress on the fuel pumps. This resulted in engines misfiring or stalling.

A CLEAN SOLUTION

Shell Commercial Fuels experts recommended Shell FuelSave Diesel (SFSD) with DYNAFLEX Technology¹. Its exclusive dual detergent formulation can effectively clean up injector deposits and help prevent further build-ups. It is also suitable for both newer and older machineries.

WHAT GOES INTO THE ENGINE MATTERS

In 2017, Sunmaju began a 10-month on-road trial of Shell FuelSave Diesel that featured three of its Volvo FL10 trucks

THE SHELL FUELSAVE DIESEL DIFFERENCE

In 2018, based on clear evidence from the trial, the Sunmaju management team decided to power its entire fleet of trucks with Shell FuelSave Diesel instead of regular diesel.

Since the switch, Sunmaju has achieved significant cost savings3 from fewer breakdowns, reduced maintenance and higher operating efficiency. In 2020, not a single breakdown from fuel injector or fuel pump issues was recorded.
